Running Accomplishments:

Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.

Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer.  When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational.  I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture.  Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.

Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race.  I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and  ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.

Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.

PRs:

800: 2:11

1600: 4:56.35

3200: 11:17.47

3 mile: 17:41

5k: 18:07

Short-Term Running Goals:

Cross Country 2016:

Run 650 to 700 summer miles SUCCESS

Low 15's on the 5K and Sub 15 3 mile

Place at region and state

Go to footlocker nationals

Track 2017:

Sub 4:20 mile

Sub 9:15 on the 3200

Sub 2:00 on the 800

Sub 6:25 on steeple chase

Qualify for State, Arcadia, and Great South West, and become the best runner I can be.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run cross country and track in college. Keep improving and just having fun. I'll probably run an ultra or two for the heck of it and to see if I like them.

Personal:

I'm a Senior at Weber High School. I am LDS and plan on serving a mission before college. I'm a member of The Hobbyjogger Project.

I did 8 this morning with Ben and Taylor. Taylor was my track coach in 8th grade, so I was fun to reconnect and run again. Later at practice we did 10 up to Big Rock and around.

I did an easy 6 this morning before school. Later today at practice we did one of Coach Hansens circuits. We did 1.5 mile warmup and totaled 2 during the workout with stairs and sprints and that fun stuff. We did like 70 burpies or something like that and like 250 crunches, so It was pretty brutal. I did a long cooldown and called it good for the day.

I did an easy 6 miles this morning before heading back to school. For practice we did a mile and a half warmup and headed up to the track. We did 8 X 500's and 8 X 400's, but I did an extra 2 400's just for the heck of it so I could be at 20 laps. hahaha My splits for the 500's were 1:25, 1:26, 1:25, 1:27, 1:28, 1:28, 1:30, 1:28. My 400's were 66, 68, 67, 69, 69-70, 66, 67, 65, 66, 65. I felt reall great about my 400 times, could have done a little better on the 500's but thats alright. We did a half mile cooldown and called it a day.

I haven't ran at Murry since my freshman year, and that was the race where it became noticable that I had astress fracture so itwas mylast race of that season. I was pretty excited to come back becasue I enjoyed the course and wanted to make some good memories there to cover the bad ones. The race had a super fast start and my first mile was a 5:04. I think I raced stronger physically and mentally than I have so far this season and wasproud with how I did. We did a mile and a half warmup with some strides and then cooled down for a few miles after the race. Me and Talon ran another mile or so around the park right before we left. Later tonight I did another 6 on my own.

Me, Add, and Dan decided to to the Huntsville half last saturday just for the heck of it. I had planned on doing another 13 mile longrun today, so I figured why not, as long as I don't push it too hard and just have fun with it. It was fun to see Riley and Taylor and some of the other guys up there and talk to them. We didn't start out too fast, as planned, and we slowly moved our way up throughout the race. We had a lot of fun jumping over cones and doing other random ish that probably should have gotten us killed. I just held a constant pace the whole race because I didn't want to ruin my upcoming races. Ended up finishing 8th place with an average pace of 6:08. Later tonight I did another easy couple of miles to shake out my legs.

We did about a mile and a warmup. The race was alright, the course was fun, but im not happy with how I did. First mile was 5:08 and second mile was 10:48. After the race Chili had us do a long cooldown so we went 4 and then me and Talon did another mile. I've missed doing these fun little extra runs with Talon like the cooldown and last night. I came home really frustrated and confused, so I went on an 11 miler to clear my head and to think through some decisions that I need to make.
