Running Accomplishments:

Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.

Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer.  When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational.  I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture.  Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.

Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race.  I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and  ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.

Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.

PRs:

800: 2:11

1600: 4:56.35

3200: 11:17.47

3 mile: 17:41

5k: 18:07

Short-Term Running Goals:

Cross Country 2016:

Run 650 to 700 summer miles SUCCESS

Low 15's on the 5K and Sub 15 3 mile

Place at region and state

Go to footlocker nationals

Track 2017:

Sub 4:20 mile

Sub 9:15 on the 3200

Sub 2:00 on the 800

Sub 6:25 on steeple chase

Qualify for State, Arcadia, and Great South West, and become the best runner I can be.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run cross country and track in college. Keep improving and just having fun. I'll probably run an ultra or two for the heck of it and to see if I like them.

Personal:

I'm a Senior at Weber High School. I am LDS and plan on serving a mission before college. I'm a member of The Hobbyjogger Project.

We ran on the trails at Rainbow Gardens this morning. Me and Add got over to some viewpoint with a bench and then turned around for a total of 6. Later tonight I met up with Jake and we did another easy 6.25.

Woke up early and ran over to McGriff park for a fartlek. I did a 5-4-3-2-1 with 1:1 rest. My average pace for the fast was a 5:40, and 7:30 for the slow. My first 5 minutes was a bit quick at 5:20 pace, but I felt good. After the workout I stopped to talk to a kid on my team who had just got there, and then saw Bayleigh running on canal, so I ran a mile with her and then went home. With the warmup and cooldown it totaled 9.75 miles. When I got home I did a couple (2.5) 10-15 minute ab workouts from my moms p90X workout things. Later tonight I did another easy 3. I've felt really low on energy today, I dont think I ate enough breakfast and lunch and my calories just ran out. Ill maker sure not to make that mistake again.

I met Jake over at Lomond View elementry for a long run. We ran aroudn talking and picking fruit for 9 miles, and it was fun. Long runs are really boring to do alone, so I'm glad he wanted to come. We averaged 6:54. Later tonight I did an easy 3 with Nate, Henry, and Derrick.

I met up with Jake this morning and we went on a run up to the elk farm and past some secret barn thing. That was right around 7.5 miles. Later tonight I did a 1.5 mile warmup and cool down with 7 hill repeats up 500. That totaled at 4.75 to put me at 12.25 for the day

I had to go to work super early this morning, so i didn't get to run early. I met up with Jake later tonight and we did 12 at a 6:47 pace. After, me and him went for a nice recover swim in his pool around midnight haha. Summer is great.

We met up as a team this morning over at make out point to tun on the trails over there. We just went at a nice easy recovery pace for 5 miles. After we got back and were stretching, Addison realized that as he stopped on the trail to use the bathroom he left his keys. So me and him ran another 3 miles after practice to retrieve his keys. So that put me at 8 for the morning. Later tonigt I met up with Jake and we ran over to Bates. On our way back we ran into Henry in some dope camo Boa's he had just gotten. We all ran together over to Jakes and then me and Henry ran home. That put me right around 5.25.

I finally was able to run with the Ogden Crew this morning, so I dragged myself out of bed and drove over with Henry and Jake. I was fealing good the first 5 or so miles and then dehydration hit. I ended up having to stop twice and felt like death, but  despite getting destroyed the rest of the run was a lot of fun and I loved meeting all of them. Hopefully I get to run again with them soon and feel a bit better. Felt like crap the rest of the day, so I didn't run again...

I still felt like crap when I woke up this morning, so I slept in and went over to my grandmas and ran on her treadmill. I did a 1.75 mile warmup with strides and then a 1-1-2-3-2-1-1 fartlek. I went 5:30 pace on the fast with an incline on the fast and 7:30 pace on the slow. After I did a 3.25 mile cooldown, for a total of 8.5 miles. Later tonight I did 5.5 more over to Bates and around the park.

I went for a 3.5 mile run this morning on canal at a pretty chill pace. Around noon I met up with Nate, Add, and Dan to drive over to the Aspen Ridge trail head to run up to Timpanogos Peak. We ran/powerhiked about 5.5 miles up to Emerald Lake where we hammock camped. I ran a mile up by the lake with some strides and called it a day. We were all super tired and didn't run as much as we had hoped because we are the worst fastpackers in the world and had 25ish pound packs...

We all slept pretty crappy because of the wind last night, so we were all really tired this morning. We hung around camp and ate until around 11 when we decided to go up to the peak. We thought it would be fairly quick up and down, but the trail was a lot more rough than we expected and we had to hike most of it. We chilled up at the peak and then headed back down. We hurried and cleaned up camp and then headed back down the mountain. I took a nice hot bath once I got home and it was great to be able to sit down and relax. Later tonight I did another easy 3, and then I ran a half mile around the park with my brother at an 8 minute pace or so.

I went over to my grandmas house again to run on the treadmill and do a hard tempo. I did a mile warmup with some strides and then started the workout. I went a full 5k and finished in 17:45, so I was stoked! Im super excited for this season considering I'm destroying last years pr's during tempo workouts. After I did a 1.25 mile cooldown and stretched for a total of 5.5 miles during the workout. I met up with Jake for a long run around 8 tonight after watching Mo kill it in the 10k. We went 12 miles together and a little with Henry. We stopped at the park and I said goodbye to Jake because he is leaving to SUU tomorrow. I ran another 1.25 miles alone and it was honestly needed just to get out all my emotions of Jake leaving and realizing that the friends I've grown up knowing and running with for the longest are all leaving. Today was sorta a crazy day running wise and probably not the smartest training, but it was the last day of summer training and mentally I just needed it.

I decided that I needed a long run this morning, so I headed out on canal. I did a mile around Mcgriff park when i got there. Soon after I saw the legendary Ben VanBeekum and ran with him for a couple of miles. The average pace was 6:50 for 10 miles. Later, I ran over to Weber for practice again and we ran over to Lomond View park for a circut. I had a lot of fun and did well. That all totaled 7.5 miles.

Easy 7.25 miles this afternoon with the team. Later tonight I did a 1-1-2-3-2-1-1 fartlek with a mile warmup and .75 mile cooldown. On the fast portions I was cruising and ran up the hills and on the flat at Barker Park in Pleasant View. On the easy I ran down the hills, so I could run back up.

I ran over to Weber and we headed up to the track. We did a 2 lap warmup and then did 12x400's with 30 second rest. It hurt, but I did well. I split 67, 68, 68, 69, 69, 69, 67, 69, 69, 70, 71, 65. I was hoping to go sub 70 on all of them, but thats alright. I did a half mile cooldown with Talon and then ran home. Later tonight I did an easy 7.

I'm very proud of my race today and I walked away with a pretty big PR!! the race started out good and I felt really calm and in control. I felt great the entire first lap and mentally stayed really strong. I was right next to good Ol' Curt Crossley from Roy until the last .5 or so and he started slipping away. He was great to have during the race and helped a lot by offering a word of motivation or two and to just have some company. I'm really greatful for the friends I have from Weber and other schools that I've gained through running. We did a good group cooldown with some friends from skyview for a mile and headed back to the busses. Later tonight I did another 7.5 at recovery pace.

I did an easy 6 this morning up on canal between classes. Later today at practice we did 4 x mile repeats at Shady lane. It was rough, none of us were hitting our times and I was getting frustrated, but its one of those workouts that you learn from and leave in the past. There is no point to worry about the past. With the warmup and cooldown that totaled 7.

We did a mile warm up and then dynamics and strides and all that fun stuff. The race was good it was hot and I didn't PR, but I'm still happy with it. We did a good cooldown with Claire, Carson, Squanto, and some of the other skyview and weber guys, so that was very enjoyable.
